People in the USA may look at these 16 foods and think they are totally normal. The rest of the world looks at these foods and gets disgusted. These American foods are weird, gross, and undesirable to anyone outside of the USA. If you love the foods on this list, then you are clearly American.

Deep-fried butter
Only the Americans could take something as simple as butter and turn it into a classic food. Deep-fried butter is a famous American snack that rolls butter in batter and breadcrumbs before frying.
We don’t have to explain why deep-fried butter is an unappetizing food. It’s incredibly unhealthy and lacks nutritional value. Moreover, eating pure butter, even when fried, is probably quite unpleasant for our taste buds.
Deep-fried ice cream
Americans and their love for deep-fried things is never going to end. The ice cream starts to melt when exposed to heat, so it’s incredibly impressive that Americans could fry it in hot oil and retain its firmness.
Deep-fried ice cream is quite delicious, but it’s challenging to get past food that’s extremely hot on the outside and frozen on the inside. It’s also quite unhealthy, so most foreigners are wary of trying it.
Hot Cheetos Mountain Dew
We might be able to get past fried butter. But it’s impossible to forgive this monstrosity: a Mountain Dew drink flavored with signature Flaming Hot Cheetos spices and seasoning.
Cheetos-flavored Mountain Dew was introduced in 2021 and instantly garnered attention. Maybe Americans loved the unique beverage, but considering the flavors are so intense, we're suspicious that anyone could like this drink.
Turducken
Americans keep coming up with crazier food ideas, and one of the riskiest is a turducken. For the blissfully oblivious folks, a turducken is a chicken stuffed in a duck stuffed in a turkey. Yes, you read that right.
While we admire the inspiration behind a turducken, it’s one of the stupidest ideas. A turducken is a waste of poultry and a delicious game since we could make multiple dishes without merging them. Plus, it’s pretty hard to cook to perfection.
Chocolate-covered bacon
Bacon is one of the most loved foods; we can’t survive a day without this breakfast classic. Similarly, chocolate is loved by many and is one of the most popular dessert flavors.
But when the two collide, they create a horrible mess of food that feels wrong to eat. While bacon has a slight sweetness, pairing it with chocolate enhances it, eventually ruining the palate.
Gummy Pizza
Some American foods aren’t stupid because they are weird but because they combine foods that feel wrong on all levels. Gummy pizza is probably on top of that list and is offensive to all Italians.
Gummy candies and pizza should be kept separate. There is really no need ever to combine these two foods.
Pigs in a blanket
Most Americans grew up eating these finger-sized foods. Pigs in a blanket were commonly served at most birthday parties, events, and work meetings and were even considered fancy hors d'oeuvres for weddings.
Yet, the food is quite silly. Although hot dogs are a famous snack, pigs in a blanket are a stupid version that makes most eaters hungrier than before. They’re also dry and unappetizing, so most non-Americans hate eating them.
Loaded milkshakes
The culinary world has always been prone to the latest trends, but one that needs to die out as soon as possible is loaded milkshakes. Initially, loaded milkshakes were an excellent food for low-energy people who needed a sugar boost.
Now, loaded milkshakes are less about fulfilling our energy needs and are more concerned with over-the-top toppings and accessories that will make them look aesthetically pleasing. Ironically, the more aesthetic they are, the less tasty.
Rocky mountain oysters
Rocky Mountain oysters sound like fancy food you'd eat when visiting the Rockies, right? They’re a giant scam. Rocky Mountain oysters have nothing to do with shelled seafood. Instead, they’re the least delicious food you’ll eat.
Rocky Mountain oysters are actually deep-fried bull testicles. The fried balls are served with a sauce that fools you into eating the disgusting food. But eating this gross dish should be abandoned because it doesn't even taste good.
Hot dog stuffed pizza
We all love pizza, but variations over the years have made it increasingly difficult to love this Italian classic. While stuffed crust pizza is a game seller in many American spots, some things are just meant to be left alone.
Stuffing pizza dough with hot dogs has to be the silliest idea because it completely ruins the taste and affects the texture of the pizza. Eating a good pizza and ending it with a salty hot dog can also be off-putting.
Cheese in a can
There’s nothing like a fresh slice of cheese to cheer you up. But Americans have wholly ruined the concept by force stuffing it into a can, which loses freshness and picks up a weird taste.
Even if we were to get over the freshness, cheese in a can is loaded with artificial ingredients. It is far, far away from being real cheese.
Grits
We’ve seen many American foods that were unappetizing because they combined mismatched ingredients, but grits are one of the only foods that are stupid because of their taste.
Grits are a lousy cross between porridge and corn; the duo don’t mesh well and taste incredibly weird. The pasty texture of grits can be off-putting. It’s also one of the few foods that doesn’t pair well with others, so it’s useless.
Deep Fried Twinkies
The Twinkie alone is a strange American food that confuses the rest of the world. The spongy, super-sweet cake and the artificial cream filling are pretty weird. But then, Americans go and batter the Twinkie and deep fry it making it even more unhealthy and disgusting.
We would suggest throwing all the Twinkies in the world away, but we aren't sure they will biodegrade within the next few decades. They are just so fake!
Chicken and Waffles
Why do Americans insist on making food mashups? Keep the meals separate! Waffles should be enjoyed at breakfast, and chicken can be served for lunch or dinner.
There is no need to combine the two into one confusing meal. Chicken and waffles on the same plate is just odd.
Candy Corn
Every Halloween, Americans start devouring waxy, artificially flavored candy corn as the rest of the world stares on in wonder. Candy corn is actually made with sugar, honey, butter, and vanilla.
The candy industry produces about 35 million pounds of candy corn each year. We guess that Americans eat all of that!
Cheddar Apple Pie
Why are Americans putting cheese on top of pie? Apple pie with cheddar cheese is pretty common in the USA. But the rest of the world adds ice cream or whipped cream to their pie.
What is the deal with the cheese and pie combo? The world may never know.
